Magento that keeps up with your business

Velocity is a team of engineers specializing in Magento and complex e-commerce. Since 2017, we have built, developed, and taken over platforms where the catalog, integrations, or business requirements no longer fit a standard online store.

A free 30–60 minute call. We will discuss your current platform, its scale and the most important challenges. We will provide an initial indication of where we can add the most value.

Why Velocity

Why companies choose Velocity

  1. Specialization instead of a broad service catalog

Magento is the foundation of the vast majority of our projects.

We know the platform not only from new implementations, but also from systems developed over many years, with custom modules, numerous integrations, architecture changes, and technical debt. We build new frontends with Hyvä.

This means we know when to use Magento standards, when a custom solution is necessary, and when another customization would only increase maintenance costs.

  2. We look at the project from your business perspective

We do not propose solutions for their own sake. Before recommending anything, we check what can be achieved with the lowest cost and risk: by using the platform standard, changing a process, or simplifying an integration.

Sometimes this means a smaller scope than the inquiry assumed. Sometimes we advise against a rebuild that would not pay back within a reasonable time. The business goal matters more than the size of a single engagement.

  3. For us, large catalogs are a data problem, not just a product count

We work with catalogs containing hundreds of thousands of SKUs.

At this scale, data structure, attributes, indexing, search, imports, cache, and communication with external systems all matter.

That is why we account for scale in the architecture from the start, instead of reacting only when indexing, search, or imports begin to block store operations.

  4. We design integrations around sources of truth

In a larger organization, Magento is part of an entire ecosystem.

An ERP such as SAP, Comarch XL, MS Dynamics, or Enova may own prices, inventory, and credit limits. A PIM such as Pimcore may own product data, a CRM the sales process, and Magento the presentation and sale of the offer.

Before development, we establish where data originates, which system is its source, and what should happen when one system is temporarily unavailable.

The goal is an architecture where the failure of a single integration does not stop all sales.

  5. We start performance work with measurement

We do not assume in advance that the frontend, server, or database is to blame.

We measure and find the real constraint: from Core Web Vitals and TTFB through PHP, the database, and cache to search, indexes, and infrastructure.

After making changes, we measure again.

Optimization should produce a verifiable result, not merely a feeling that it “should be faster.”

  6. We can step into an existing project

Not every client needs a new implementation.

We often take over platforms where development takes too long, problems keep returning, performance declines, or it is difficult to determine which part of the system is actually causing an error.

We do not start by assuming everything must be rewritten.

First, we establish the facts. Then we decide what to keep, what to rebuild, and what genuinely requires a larger change.

    Project rescue
  7. A senior team accountable for the whole project

We work as a stable team of experienced experts. Magento, integration, infrastructure, and architecture expertise remains in-house.

Once the agreement is signed, the project is not handed over to random subcontractors.

    How we work
  8. We think beyond launch day

Our longest client relationships have continued since Velocity was founded.

That gives us a different perspective from a project that ends with the initial launch.

We see how technical decisions behave years later as the catalog grows, the ERP changes, and new sales channels, integrations, and business requirements appear.

We care not only whether a solution can be implemented, but also whether it can be developed sensibly later.

When we are not the right choice

You probably do not need Velocity if:

  • you run a simple store without significant integrations and your priority is the lowest price,
  • you want to move an existing system 1:1 without reviewing the processes.

We create the most value where e-commerce is an important part of the business and the technology must support more than a standard purchasing process.
